Campbell River Campout
It’s May and spring is officially upon us and we’re ready to welcome all it brings even if this year is a little different. We’re loving the warm days and the long evenings but one thing that’s missing is a good old campout. While BC Parks has announced its plans to re-open in phases starting with day use on May 14th (you can read more about that here). Campgrounds won’t begin to re-open until early June.
Meaning the next few weekends are going to involve staying close to home. However here in Campbell River, we’re nothing but resourceful so we’re challenging you to “THE GREAT CAMPBELL RIVER CAMPOUT”. We want you to show off your sweet backyard set up, tag us on Instagram or email your submissions to [email protected].
Set up camp in your living room, balcony or back yard anywhere on your property is fair game. We will be looking for the most creative set-ups so bust out the twinkle lights, cozy pillows, blankets and your favourite camping games. Feel free to take a video of your camping activities whether that be riding some “new” trails, trying some indoor rock climbing or dust off the bocce ball for some friendly competition. Bonus points if you can include some love for our local businesses, enjoy your morning coffee with beans from the Island Grind or some tea from Stonehouse Teas. Or treat yourself to a camp-out feast from a local restaurant. Browse below for some backyard camping inspo:
Our good friends the Mandagies have also put together an excellent blog full of ideas on how to create the perfect at-home campout. Read it here.
We know what you’re thinking and yes there will be prizes. The best entry will win the ultimate Campbell River camping package featuring two CR mugs, 2 s’more packs and a CR blanket! The winner will be announced on Instagram Stories on June 1st.
Show us what you’ve got Campbell River!
