The Shelter Point Distillery opened its doors in 2011 making it a relatively new addition to Campbell River. The distillery is located on 380 acres of farmland that borders on the pacific ocean. One of the last seaside farms on the island, Shelter Point’s products are heavily influenced by their surrounding ecosystems. The crisp sea air helps flavour the barley grown on the farm. Giving the spirits made here a taste unique to Campbell River. If you truly want to immerse yourself in our community stopping here is a must!

A knowledgeable “spirit” guide will show you around the facility and explain the process of how they distill their spirits. These guys are serious about whiskey and always deliver on not only an informational but entertaining tour.

Once you’ve had the full tour and tasting experience we recommend taking a walk along the Salmon Point Trail. This path borders the Shelter Point farm and the ocean giving great views on all sides. Walking this trail will give you an appreciation of Shelter Point’s connection to our environment and how tied to Campbell River their spirits really are.
