Getting Here by Land

Campbell River is a 3-hour (264 km/165 mile) drive north from Victoria or a 1.5-hour (153 km/95 mile) drive from Nanaimo, where the ferry terminals of Departure Bay and Duke Point are located. Drive Highway 19, the inland, four-lane expressway to Campbell River. If you prefer a fully-serviced highway route, follow the “starfish” signs along the scenic Oceanside Route, Highway 19A. Follow the official “starfish” signs south of Parksville and at other exits along Highway 19.

Getting Here by Sea

Campbell River is a boaters’ haven with a range of services and facilities, including moorage, for you and your craft. Before heading to sea, consult up-to-date tide tables and marine charts to familiarize yourself with the waterways around Campbell River.

Bringing a vehicle to Vancouver Island is easy from either British Columbia’s Mainland or Washington State. In British Columbia, BC Ferries runs scheduled trips between various location on the BC Mainland and Vancouver Island.

With onboard restaurants and breath-taking scenery, taking the ferries is like going on a miniature cruise! Water-taxis are readily available to take you around to places that are otherwise inaccessible.

Getting Here by Air

The north-central island region is within easy reach of Vancouver, Victoria, and Washington State. There are regularly scheduled flights to Campbell River from Vancouver and Washington, and charters are available to and from just about anywhere.

Campbell River Airport (YBL) has reliable, convenient daily scheduled airline services by  Central Mountain Air and Pacific Coastal Airlines. Pacific Coastal Airlines and Central Mountain Air connects via the South Terminal at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). The Campbell River Airport is a convenient 15-minute drive from downtown Campbell River. The Campbell River Airport is designated as a Port of Entry; the airport regularly serves aircraft from Cessna 150’s up to Boeing 737’s, Globals, Gulfstream’s and all other corporate clients.

From the Comox Airport (YQQ), Campbell River is a 40-minute drive north along the scenic Inland Island Highway 19A. Daily scheduled flights are serviced by Air Canada and Westjet.
