Discovery Passage Aquarium & Explorer Lab
After a long winter, the Discovery Passage Aquarium will be reopening its doors to the public on World Ocean’s Day, June 8th, 2021. Send in photos of you and your social circle engaged in efforts to clean up your local beach and we will send you free admission to the aquarium! Details on our website.
The Discovery Passage Aquarium makes visible the wonders of our local marine life accessible through hands-on experiences and expert interpretation. Through establishment of the Aquarium and subsequent projects, DPAS aims to enhance knowledge, appreciation, and stewardship of our natural resources and ecosystems. Our organization and public aquarium have been in seasonal operation, opening in the spring and releasing all of our animals back to their original habitats in the fall since 2013.
Our mission to educate the public on the importance of local marine life to our culture, economy, and survival does not end with the operation of our public aquarium. During normal years, we also offer school programs and summer camps from our Explorer Lab! The Explorer Lab is fit with a classroom and a wet lab where students and campers can get their hands salty learning about marine life in ways not possible on the beach or in a traditional school setting.
Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10:30am-4:30pm Saturday-Sunday 10am-5pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday
