Haig-Brown Festival 2022

On Sunday, September 25, 2022, Rivers Day, join us on the banks of the Campbell River for a gathering that celebrates community with live music, vendors, activities and food. The event takes place from 11-3 and is free to attend!

Join us in front of the main stage at 1:20pm to recognize outstanding effort and individuals in preserving, protecting and stewarding our local environment.
Artisan Market with locally made items from baking, jams, woodworking, jewelry and more.
Combine adventure with storytelling in this Storytime Walk. Bring your little ones to follow a story among the festival with a self-guided, assisted story path to discover at your own pace. Hosted by the Campbell River and North Island Transition Society in partnership with the Campbell River Literacy Association.
Dog Agility Demonstrations
At 11:30am and 12:30pm Agility Unleashed will ne available for questions and will be doing demonstrations with their highly trained dogs. Please note – other dogs will not be permitted in the agility training area.
Plein Air Painters
Follow the paint brush symbols and see local painters in a plein air demonstration as artists develop an original artwork at the festival.
“Taking Measure” Podcast Listing Station
A new podcast produced by the Museum at Campbell River
Visit the Listening Station and get engrossed in the Museum’s podcast “Taking Measure” featuring conversations about Roderick Haig-Brown’s 1950 Classic work Measure of the Year: Reflections on home, family and a life fully lived. Sit on the grounds, surrounded by the life Roderick and Anne created while you listen to one of the 12 parts and explore the man, his work and the legacy he’s left through the eyes and voices of his four children and others who knew him well.
Fly Casting & Tying Demonstrations
Join Campbell River Women’s Flyfishers as they demonstrate how to tie flys and try your hand with the casting demos.
Field of Dreams for Family Games
Try out one of the backyard games like croquet, giant jenga, or the scavenger hunt. Lots of fun activities for the adventurous in all of us. Campbell River Literacy Society will also be hosting Story Time in this family friend activities area in the lawn.
