We saw about 20 grizzly bears, large males and several mothers with cubs, catching salmon and strolling along,
some of them so close that we had to go back into the bus. All in all an incredibly impressive experience, very peaceful and in a stunning landscape.
In between the guides told stories from the Homalco First Nations mythology.
We spent several hours with the bears, then had a nice lunch before Andrew
took us back with all his ambition to show us also some marine wildlife, and actually,
we saw some orcas and humpback whales. This trip was definitely the highlight of our tour through western and Northern BC.
